Monthly Artwork Summaries
January – Speedboat Racing Chaos:
A high-speed waterway explodes with colour and action as futuristic speedboats race past startled ducks, hippos, and fishermen. Spectators cheer from the banks while rogue umbrellas fly through the spray. It’s pure high-octane silliness to start the year.
February – Sailing Regatta Mayhem:
Numbered sailboats clash, tip, and tangle in a chaotic regatta where collisions outnumber victories. A helicopter hovers overhead, while panicked crews cling to masts and ropes. It’s a full-blown cartoon traffic jam — on water.
March – Motorboat Mayhem on the Lake:
Everyone has a motorboat, and no one knows how to drive. Bright boats buzz in every direction, waves crash against the dock, and water-skiers, fishermen, and dogs get swept up in the mayhem. Even the spectators need umbrellas!
April – White-Water Kayaking Madness:
Daring kayakers take on a series of outrageous waterfalls — some paddling, others clinging for dear life. Paddles fly, helmets bob, and the bridge is clogged with competitors. A hippo joins the chaos, because of course it does.
May – Anything-That-Floats Raft Race:
Homemade rafts made from barrels, sofas, and garden chairs float (barely) downstream. There’s a pirate raft, a couple relaxing on a couch, and even tiny mice on a cheese boat. It’s imaginative, ridiculous, and heartwarmingly unhinged.
June – Big Sails, Big Trouble:
Massive yachts with oversized sails tilt and topple as crews cling, swing, and shout. Kitesurfers, small boats, and unlucky swimmers get caught in the splash. It’s bold, blustery, and beautifully exaggerated.
July – Dragon Boat Showdown:
International teams compete in a vibrant dragon boat race — but someone’s firing a cannon from the docks! Each boat is packed with paddlers giving it their all, while dragons snarl and spectators duck for cover.
August – River Rowing Chaos:
Dozens of teams row full-tilt in a narrow city river. Oars clash, megaphones blare, and a duck proudly paddles through the centre. A bridge full of cheering fans watches the pandemonium from above.
September – River Jam Spectacle:
It’s a full-on watersport traffic jam! Water-ski pyramids, banana boats, jet skis, and fishing boats battle for space as waves crash in every direction. Fishermen get dragged off docks, umbrellas fly, and smiles abound.
October – Kiteboarding Carnage:
A wild wind has sent dozens of kites into the air over Table Bay, Cape Town. Kiteboarders criss-cross, crash, and soar while startled sunbathers and dogs dodge boards on the sand. Bright, brilliant, and utterly airborne.
November – Lazy River & Rowboat Rentals:
A calmer scene — at first glance. Picnickers, ducks, kids in floaties, and paper boats float along a lakeside park… until rope swings, drones, and runaway geese stir the pot. Relaxing? Sort of. Hilarious? Always.
December – Surfers vs the Giant Wave:
A tsunami-sized wave swallows a beach full of surfers, kiteboarders, and clueless tourists. Boards fly, paddlers flip, and the skies fill with airborne thrill-seekers. It’s the ultimate wipeout finale to the year.
Bonus Scene – Cape Town Beach Frenzy:
From False Bay to Muizenberg, the surf is packed with paddleboarders, rowers, swimmers, sharks, trains, planes, and beachgoers. Kids build sandcastles while chaos erupts just metres away. A brilliant mashup of local flavour and Thomson madness.
