Monthly Artwork Summaries
January – Cruise Ship Fitness Class:
Passengers work up a sweat on a crowded cruise ship deck beside a curvy swimming pool. Adults leap, stretch and wobble through the class while children copy their moves, waiters weave between deck chairs, the captain joins in, and sunbathers sip cocktails among seagulls and mice.
February – Crowded Gym Floor:
A busy gym floor bursts with fitness chaos as runners pound treadmills, cyclists pedal furiously, weightlifters strain under bending barbells, and mirror-flexers admire themselves. From resistance bands to sauna survivors, every corner is packed with energy, effort and mice.
March – Outdoor Yoga in a Japanese Garden:
A peaceful yoga class unfolds in a beautiful Japanese garden with ponds, stone lanterns, curved bridges, trees and flowers. While most students hold graceful poses, one topples over, a dog demonstrates downward dog, incense burns quietly, a phone rings, and mice sneak through the calm.
April – Marathon Start Line:
Hundreds of nervous runners crowd against the start tape, stretching, bouncing and waiting for the pistol to fire. With toilet queues, portable loos, unusual costumes, untied laces, camera crews, birds and mice, the race is already chaotic before it begins.
May – Cycling Spin Class:
A dramatic night-time spin class takes place high above the city, with rows of riders pedalling furiously to blasting music. An overexcited instructor leads the charge while tired participants struggle, pedals spin wildly, a vintage cyclist rides a penny-farthing, a child joins on a tricycle, and mice raid a gym bag.
June – Muddy Obstacle Course Race:
Rain, mud and madness take over as competitors crawl under nets, climb wooden walls, swing across muddy pits and carry each other through deep sludge. Exhausted racers, cheering spectators, helpful volunteers and determined mice make this obstacle course a glorious mess.
July – Rock Pool Fitness:
A lively outdoor rock pool becomes a seaside fitness class as instructors lead water aerobics among waves, dumbbells, leg kicks and raised-arm poses. Surfers pass in the background, seals pop up nearby, beachgoers exercise on the side, and mice somehow join the shoreline action.
August – Rock Climbing Gym:
An indoor climbing gym is packed with climbers scaling colourful walls, dangling from ropes and scrambling over padded mats. Belayers, coaches and spectators cheer from below while one climber hangs upside down, another tangles in rope, an oversized gecko clings to the wall, and mice scurry between the mats.
September – Office Fitness Day:
A corporate office transforms into a fitness zone as a headband-wearing boss coaches employees between desks, dividers, watercoolers and filing cabinets. Staff attempt push-ups, star jumps, chair races and water-bottle lifting, while motivational posters, office plants and mice complete the scene.
October – Airport Workout:
A busy airport terminal becomes an unexpected exercise arena, with travellers stretching on seats, jogging on the spot and running along the travelator while carrying luggage as weights. Pilots and cabin crew do yoga, families and passengers watch in amusement, departure boards glow overhead, and mice slip through the crowd.
November – Shopping Mall Power-Walkers:
Three floors of a closed shopping mall fill with energetic power-walkers in tracksuits and walking shoes. Groups stride in different directions with bold leaders, while senior walkers in white conservative clothing use wheelchairs, walkers and sticks with confidence, chatting as security guards and mice look on.
December – Muay Thai Training Gym:
A colourful Muay Thai gym comes alive on blue and green checkered flooring, with fighters kicking pads, sparring, skipping ropes and training around rows of punching bags. In the boxing ring, protected fighters trade blows while coaches guide the action and mice dart between the mats.
